AUGUST TOP STORY

THE CADUCEUS: WHAT DOES IT REPRESENT?

Everywhere in western medicine you find the Caduceus symbol: It’s the staff entwined with two serpents, with wings at the top. You’ll find it emblazoned on medical texts, medical school certificates and medical websites even in hospitals and medical buildings.
But what does the symbol mean, exactly? Upon investigation the Caduceus, it seems, was a staff carried by the Greek god Hermes.>>>

Hermes is best known as the messenger of the gods, but he is also well known as the protector of liars, gamblers and thieves. He’s also prominently known as the guide of the dead.
According to Wikipedia, the name of the staff, Caduceus, is adapted from the Greek word kerukeion, which means “herald’s wand” — the staff of the public messenger. It’s related to the words kerux and kerusso, which pertain to someone who announces information to the public.
From a Biblical point of view, the two serpents on the staff are, of course, symbols of evil and deception. There is a Greek myth about the two serpents on the staff which states that Tiresias found two snakes copulating and he beat to death the female snake with his staff.
So far, then, we have a staff carried by the Greek god Hermes, a protector of liars and thieves (who is also the guide of the dead), named as a staff or wand related to announcing information to the public, encircled by two serpents representing evil, and tied to yet another Greek myth about the female being beat to death.
This is the symbol of modern-day western medicine.

The part about the female being beaten to death is especially relevant, given how our male-dominated western medical system considers virtually all female physiology to be disease (pregnancy, menstruation, etc.). Women are treated badly in many ways, through endless breast cancer screening and mandatory HPV vaccines. Female organs were considered useless or disease-ridden, such as when hysterectomies are performed to remove women’s “hysteria” (madness). That’s where the name “hysterectomy” actually comes from, of course.
Once brain washed impressionable young doctor’s graduate from their medical schools, they are legally given tools to “treat” patients: Encouraged to use chemotherapy poisons, toxic pharmaceuticals and radiation machines. They slice off women’s breasts and call it “cancer prevention.” They poison children’s brains with chemicals and call it “medicine.”>>>

They damage key organs like the heart, liver, kidneys and brain through the forced application of toxic agents and vaccines.
Don’t you find the caduceus more than a bit curious?

If I were creating a symbol of health, surely it would be a simple choice: The radiant sun and a collection of plant leaves. Mother Nature, a river, a stream, a mountain, something along those lines. It would definitely be based on the sun.

Modern medicine, however, has chosen different symbols.
Forget about the TV ads, the press releases and the disinformation spewing forth from Big Pharma and conventional sources.
Modern pharmaceutical medicine is not health. Its tools can be poisonous in mixed dosage and its goals are to eliminate knowledge of natural remedies, in exchange for profits.

I realize in the context of our lives the caduceus is just a symbol, but the history of symbols such as this can be interesting when examined closely. I also accept the necessity of the fact that there are occasions when individual pharmaceutical drugs need to be part of our society. However, I have constantly warned about the combination dangers and the use of the public, particularly indigenous peoples and children, all over the world as guinea pigs. The recent deaths of several popular entertainers prove my point about combinations. Edited by me from an article in Naturalnews

- Further to the above, is the recent hasty invention of a vaccine for the so called swine flu being tested over a lengthy period? Don’t let them try it out on you or your children. God only knows what the side effects may be!

Why You Should Eat More Raw Foods

In 2006 a raw food diet study was made by researcher Lenka  Zajic, who went on to obtain a Masters in Vegan and Live Food Nutrition, where she conducted an in-depth 500-participant survey of raw food eaters. The study showed that people who ate 80-90 percent raw foods showed significant improvements in immunity, digestion, allergies, weight, disease, energy, and mental and emotional well-being.
#1 – Energy
Eating raw foods increases your energy. There are a few reasons for this; one is that your body doesn’t have to spend as much energy digesting your food. Raw foods contain enzymes, and these enzymes help your body break down food. Cardiovascular endurance improved for 67 percent of respondents. A dramatic increase in energy levels were reported since transitioning to raw foods,
#2 – Cleansing
Elimination improved dramatically on a raw food diet. People who reported having two or more bowel movements per day increased from 25 percent to 78 percent. The number of respondents experiencing constipation decreased from 73 percent to 30 percent. Having a properly functioning digestive tract is vital to maintaining optimal health.
#3 – More Time
Preparing raw foods takes a lot less time, compared to cooked foods. Raw food eaters also reported needing less sleep. Those who reported needing over 8 hours of sleep per night dropped from 59 percent to 19 percent. Sleep quality also improved; those who reported no insomnia rose from 40 to 59 percent since transitioning to a raw food diet.
#4 – Weight
According to a raw food diet study that contained 864 self-reported two-year plus raw food eaters, 82.5 percent lost weight after switching to a raw food diet. 75 percent of those not already at their ideal weight said they were successful in reaching it after transitioning to a raw food diet.  >>>
>>>
#5 – Environment
Producing meat costs an incredible amount of energy and food. This food could be used to feed starving nations and let nature recuperate. Did you know that livestock produce more climate change gasses than all the vehicles in the world? It’s true; a report by the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization proves it. A meat-based diet also requires 7 times more land than a plant-based diet.

#6 – Mental Health
One of the most dramatic and encouraging areas of improvement occurred in mental, emotional and spiritual health. Overall, the majority of respondents (87.5 percent) reported an improved mental, emotional and/or spiritual state after the transition. The percentage of respondents that reported a “good” or “excellent” mental state after transitioning to raw foods rose in all categories surveyed including:

1. Optimism (43% to 91%)
2. Patience (29% to 84%)
3. Self-Sufficiency (54% to 88%)
4. Memory, Focus & Clarity (36% to 82%)
5. Creativity (48% to 82%)
6. Efficiency (53% to 82%)
7. Passion (53% to 88%)
8. Intuition (52% to 91%)
9. Dept of Meditation (28% to 68%)
10. Quietness of Mind (25% to 74%)
11. Contentment (30% to 80%)
12. Joy (31% to 79%)

I can vouch for the advantages of a basic raw food diet. It does take some imagination, however there are many raw food suppliers and recipes on the net plus local organic and raw food outlets. Just hop on the net and type in raw food!

The amusing and not so amusing Big Brother thought police are at it again

England, the home of George Orwell and Big Brother is at it again. Britain appears to be evolving into a totalitarian state. The government is pushing legislation that will criminalise politically incorrect jokes, comments with supposed racist undertones and withholding information deemed dissent, with a maximum penalty of up to seven years prison.

Recent examples include a 14 year old schoolgirl who asked if she could sit with another group to do a science project because all the girls spoke only Urdu. The teacher’s response was to accuse her of racism and called police. She was taken to be finger printed and photographed and placed in a bare cell. They eventually released her without charge but the school is taking action, no, not with the teacher but with the little girl! In another case a 10 year old boy called some other boys ‘Paki’, the court case cost nearly $50,000. Even a children’s BBC TV program character Basil Brush who made a joke about Gypsies, was banned.

There is also a sinister new bill forcing all religious schools and homes to be forced to remove crucifixes, holy pictures or any religious symbols or icons from public view in case they offend other religions or atheists.

In Australia we are being faced with more and more jargon and double speak. Some new words include ‘dialogic’ (discussions) also known as talking. ‘Scaffolding’ (building concepts) also known as teaching.  ‘Outcomes’ (what the student should know) also known as stuff you do at school and big brother syndrome (ambition to be a celebrity) also known as day dreaming. >>>

>>>This all has a name –‘ edu-babble’ and of all places where there should be simplicity it is in the class room, not in euphemistic jargon.

It seems our friend Orwell was suffering from premature speculation with his book 1984 because in Britain you can now be arrested for noisy copulation. Putting this as delicately as I can, a housewife in the north of England was remanded in custody after complaints from neighbours for having excessively noisy orgasms. She was arrested on an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.

Oh dearie me. I sincerely hope all the above stays in Britain. Any one of these incidents might be dismissed as an aberration but taken together–and this is only a small sample-they add up to a pretty horrifying picture. Private affairs could be a public trial, we must be aware and on guard because this really isn’t funny, it’s insidious. We must keep that Aussie spirit of independence alive.                               .Information from the Australian & Times newspapers, magazines Spik

Some Dog Foods Deliver Toxic Doses of Poison

With the memory of the melamine pet food scare still fresh in the minds of many, the Environmental Working Group is publicising a new threat: potentially toxic doses of fluoride in dog food. An EWG analysis found troubling levels of fluoride in 8 of 10 dog foods tested. The concentration of fluoride was up to 2.5 times higher than the safe level the EPA sets for drinking water. Some puppies may be exposed to five times this limit.

The fluoride in dog food originates in bone meal and animal by-products. EWG recommends choosing dog food brands free of bone meal and meat by-product ingredients like chicken by-product meal, poultry by-product meal, chicken meal and beef meal. Be aware.

BABY PRODUCTS

Baby products like shampoo and lotion are often advertised as being “pure” and “gentle,” and many parents assume they can trust these claims. But as it turns out so often in the realm of personal care products, there could be virtually anything in that bottle.
This latest study from the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found that 32 out of 48 baby bath products they tested — including some from brand names like Johnson & Johnson — contained formaldehyde or 1,4-dioxane, both of which are probable carcinogens.
And 17 of the baby bath products contained BOTH of the chemicals — including the top-selling Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and Sesame Street Bubble Bath.
You wouldn’t be able to tell there were cancer-causing chemicals in your baby’s shampoo or lotion just from reading the label, though, as these chemicals are not listed. Rather, they are created during the manufacturing process and shrugged off as being in too minute of quantities to be concerned with.
But other countries do not agree.
Japan and Sweden have banned formaldehyde from personal care products, and the European Union has banned 1,4-dioxane. They’ve even recalled products that were found to contain it.

Babies are very sensitive to chemicals. It is bad enough that our current society puts so many chemicals in food and drink without washing them in poisons as well.

One company that created some good news for a change is Aldi who has become the first Aussie supermarket to remove inappropriate food colourings that harm children. Let’s hope they are serious!

If you or your loved ones have a dose of ‘real’ flu (not the conveniently promoted ‘swine’ flu), it is actually much worse and more difficult to shake. I came across an excellent remedy which I do not hesitate to recommend. Called Propolis Herbal Elixir it’s available at your Health Food store.

Is depression overrated? Now there is a subject for discussion. Some people are obviously more susceptible than others. There is plenty you can do about it. Check with your local Health store and avoid those debilitating chemical drugs!
