Unlike not so many years ago, foods are now grown in chemicals, sprayed with chemicals, picked unripe, carried long distances, stored for months, gassed to ripen, sprayed with a dye to make them look good and they then have the hide to call them ?fresh?!
The food industry has, by manipulation of the public?s taste buds, created acceptance of fabricated, engineered junk foods for our ?convenience?. We have imitation foods, pre-cooked, frozen, freeze dried, extruded, canned and foods that are often made entirely from ingredients mixed in laboratories, with large amounts of cleverly disguised sugar, salt and fats. Foods that are heated, ground, filled with artificial flavourings, emulsifiers, stabilisers, thickeners, neutralisers, preservatives, nitrates, anti-oxidants, colourings and bleaches. The end products are often then artificially enriched and fortified to add back the nutrients lost in the processing. Which begs the question, why process it so heavily in the first place?
